Shahrukh Khan on the cover of Blender

The 'King Khan' of Bollywood never fails to make heads swivel, be it when he sets the screens ablaze with his performances or off screen with his charisma and quick wit. This month's issue of the music and entertainment magazine 'Blender' features the 'Baadshah of Bollywood' Sharukh Khan on the cover.

The May issue of 'Blender' gives The Reader a glimpse into the life of the ever busy and bubbling SRK, and even talks about his well known skill of multi-tasking. Throwing other facts like SRK being the star with the maximum number of endorsements under his belt, the issue evidently becomes a must buy. Also, in this exclusive interview, SRK talks about his IPL experience which has now become a hot favourite topic of discussion.

Adding to this already heady concoction of gyaan from the Bollywood sovereign Khan, are some of rock world's best kept secrets and behind the scenes with rock's greatest groupies. With all this rolled into one, the May issue of 'Blender' is simply intoxicating!

In search of some luck : Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan is leaving no stone unturned to better the luck of his IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Numerologist Sanjay B Jumaani claims that SRK has made major changes as per the former's predictions to bring in good luck.

Jumaani says, "Why else would he remove 'Kolkata' from the logo? And why would he discard Sourav Ganguly as the permanent captain?" According to his calculations, "KKR didn't add up well, but sans 'Kolkata', just 'Knight Riders' added up perfectly. It totals up to 1, [the number] of the powerful Sun.

" Explaining further, Jumaani maintains that Sourav, a number 8, was far from lucky for SRK, because even in the past, the number 8 has been harmful for the him. "Also, right in the beginning, we had warned that the colour black used for their team jersey wasn't auspicious.

My recommendation is for them to change the black color. Also, Dada should wear a jersey numbered 24," he says.

Joy Bhattacharya of KKR gives a different reason, though. "The company is called Knight Riders Sports Private Limited, so dropping Kolkata from the logo is for better marketing and communication purposes," he says.

Billu Barber will have no 'barber' in title

Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan has decided to drop the word 'barber' from the title of his home production film Billu Barber after a section of hairdressers objected to the word terming it as 'derogatory'.

Khan talking to reporters said that his production house Red Chillies has decided to drop the word 'barber' from all the posters.

He said that since the film is slated for release later this week, there isn't much that can be done. But he added that he doesn't want to invoke the wrath of any section of the society.

"I understand the emotions and I respect. Instead of it becoming an issue where people are going to blacken out poster and give some sort of dissent or grief at cinema halls, film is not about that. We will try and remove the word 'Barber' from the posters," said Khan.

Khan said that members of Hairdressers and Saloon Association had approached him with their 'genuine concerns' over the use of the word 'Barber' and its Hindi translation hajaam.

He said that though the censor board has already cleared the film, he would not like to hurt the sentiments of the hairdressers.

"These people feel the word hajaam (barber) that should not be there in the film. We would beep the word in the film, but I don''t think we can do anything about the music. Though the censor board has already cleared the film, we don't think we have shown them in wrong light. There is no point in releasing a film by hurting the sentiments of the people whose profession we are portraying in the film," said Khan.

Khan plays a popular Bollywood actor in the film, which is about a village hairdresser and his friendship with a movie star.

Billu Barber, directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Khan, is all set for release around Valentine's Day.

SRK becomes ‘Datuk’ Shahrukh Khan

Next time when you come across the word ‘Datuk Shahrukh Khan’, don’t be surprised for our King Khan has been conferred the title of ‘Datuk’ by the Governor of Malaysia’s southern Malacca State. For the uninitiated, ‘Datuk’ is equivalent of the prestigious British knighthood. With this SRK becomes the first in Bollywood fraternity to be conferred a Malaysian title.

SRK appeared all dressed up in a chic traditional black and gold Malay outfit (Baju Melayu and samping), and headgear to receive the title from the Governor of Malaysia’s southern Malacca State, Mohamad Khalil Yaacob. After the grand ceremony, SRK announced that he would star in a new movie My Name is Khan, that would help spread the message that Islam does not support terrorism, but is something that would make clear that Islam does not in any which way tell you to be violent. SRK, on his part also furthered that “I think the whole concept of jihad, the whole concept of warring needs to be explained as Allah meant it to be in the Koran… it is an attempt to try and do that in an entertaining way.”

Exclusive Stills Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Have you ever stopped to think if the most ordinary, uninteresting, unobtrusive man you might see on the road or around you might have a love story to tell?

Maybe not! How can an ordinary man have a breathtaking, goose flesh igniting, awe inspiring love story of all things to tell?

But guess what - love does not differentiate between the ordinary and exceptional, the uninteresting and interesting, the unattractive and attractive. Because love knows no distinction. It can happen to anyone and once it does it engulfs us into it completely and gives us those miraculous experiences that only love can yield.

This is what happened to Surinder Sahni (Shahrukh Khan) - a simple, clean hearted, honest man working for Punjab Power, leading a humdrum life, when he meets his total opposite and finds love in the flamboyant, fun-loving, vivacious - Taani (Anushka Sharma) for whom the whole world is her canvas and she paints her own life with the colours of rainbow all until unforeseen circumstances changes it all and brings them together.

What follows is a journey filled with laughter, tears, joy, pain, music, dance and a lot of love. A journey that makes us believe that there is an extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi.

Co stars love SRK

No matter what Salman Khan may say. Shah Rukh Khan is loved by his co stars. Ask Irfaan Khan and Lara Dutta, his co stars in Billoo Barber, which is being directed by Priyadrashan and produced by SRK himself.

SRK, who shares most of his scenes with Irfaan in the film, apparently endeared himself so much to his co star, that Irfaan is now missing him. The actor says that ever since SRK finished shooting his bit, he has started missing him. According to Irfaan, there is no zing left in the shoot.

SRK, he believes, is an entertainer, on and off screen. And it is this entertainment that he is missing. Lara, on the other hand, who stepped into the film after Bipasha Basu and Ameesha Patel walked out, is touched by the actor's concern. Since he is the producer of the film, he made sure that he personally checked the accommodation that was provided for the cast when they were shooting in Pollachi in Tamil Nadu, the same village where Priyadarshan had earlier shot Viraasat.

Knowing that there were no luxury hotels available in the village, he personally visited one of the houses in the village where Lara was to be accommodated. Of course, things were a little primitive in the village. The actors had to make it to their locations by tractor. Anyway, it was all rendered tolerable because of SRK's behavior and his concern for Lara, who he feels indebted to for agreeing to play the role Billoo Barber's wife at the last moment. So no matter what Salman says, his co stars love SRK
